"We monitor many frequencies. We listen always.
Came a voice, out of the babel of tongues, speaking to us. It played a mighty dub."

"While performing and listening to gradual musical processes one can participate in a particular liberating and impersonal kind of ritual. Focusing in on the musical process makes possible that shift of attention away from he and she and you and me outwards towards it."

El-P finds a revelation within the destruction on Cancer 4 Cure

Wrote something on El-P’s new record. Some choice interview cuts in the mix too, namely, El-P introduces his idea of paincave—that unfortunate experience in which smoking too much weed turns on you. That was supposed to be the title of the second Company Flow album that never was.

"But words are still the principal instruments of control. Suggestions are words. Persuasions are words. Orders are words. No control machine so far devised can operate without words, and any control machine which attempts to do so relying entirely on external force or entirely on physical control of the mind will soon encounter the limits of control."

Jacques Boiffard, “Big Toe” (Gros Orteil, 1930 Documents)

Corns on the feet differ from headaches and toothaches by their baseness, and they are only laughable because of an ignominy explicable by the mud in which feet are found. Since by its physical attitude the human race distances itself as much as it can from terrestrial mud — whereas a spasmodic laugh carries joy to its summit each time its purest flight lands man’s own arrogance spread-eagle in the mud — one can imagine that a toe, always or less damaged and humiliated, is pcyhologically analogous to the brutal fall of man—in other words, to death.
